Yukang Chen

Yukang Chen uses the method of overlapping to promote a dynamism and transparency in his paintings, which often focus on dance, sport and landscapes. Born in Shanghai, Yukang graduated from the Fine Arts College of Shanghai University and became an instructor there, also exhibiting his work in many art shows in China. He moved to New York in 1992, dedicating his work to combining Chinese painting and Western drawings. He also took up interior design and was commissioned to design spaces and homes for private individuals. Yukang’s paintings have been shown around the world, including in Denmark, England, Germany, and Japan. Yukang is returning to the Gracie Square Art Show
