Sumiyo Toribe

Sumiyo Toribe, based in Massachusetts, works primarily with watercolor on paper; her other mediums are Sumi ink, oil painting, and ceramics. Sumiyo was born in Kyoto, Japan, and received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Much of her inspiration comes from New England’s seasonal landscapes. Sumiyo participates in juried, group, and solo exhibits and has published a book entitled Painting by Lyrics. Sumiyo is returning to the Gracie Square Art Show.
