Simon Zeng was born in China and moved to New York City in 1996, where he studied at the Art Students League of New York and now works and lives as an independent professional artist. His calligraphy began in the Kai style of the Tang Dynasty and then followed in the cursive and running styles of the Wei and Jin Dynasties. Simon believes that calligraphy should express the noble, pure, and spiritual feelings of the artist. His painting style draws upon those of past and present and represents the graceful shape of objects through skillful brush abstraction.
