Prince Duncan-Williams
Medium: Mixed Media
Booth Number: 30
Prince Duncan-Williams is a mixed-media artist who creates silk mosaic art from his original sketches. Born in Ghana and coming to the United States in 1982 to study architectural drafting, his work merges African and American/European traditions in a jazz-inspired style. Prince’s work begins with a thin pencilled outline on a special board on which he spreads glue and then carefully lays the rows of threads that work around a spiral. The contrasting rows of colorful thread enhance the texture and mood of each image, creating a unique art form. Prince is returning to the Gracie Square Art Show
