 Jorge Caligiuri, born in Argentina, studied at the Academy of Bellas Artes in Rosario and holds a degree in architecture from the University of Buenos Aires. He worked worldwide for many years as an interior designer before settling in the United States to work as an artist. Now based in Philadelphia, Jorge works primarily in fresco and encaustic mediums, combining multiple techniques in his abstract and often minimal paintings. The focus of his work is to fragment the space in myriad ways with texture and line as the primary tools with pattern, shape, and color. Jorge’s work is displayed at galleries in New York, Washington D. C., and Philadelphia and in many private collections. Jorge is returning to the Gracie Square Art Show.
