A native of Chester County, Pennsylvania, John Pompeo began his career as a biologist, later turning to painting murals and smaller works on canvas. In his own words, he is inspired to paint subjects that have a sense of serenity and most of his paintings are “portraits of the natural world.” His current work focuses on large peaceful land and seascapes, predominately in a square orientation. His intention is to produce pieces that “inspire, awaken, and soothe.”
