The work of mixed-media artist Cheryl Mayer reflects her love of natural elements, including marble, granite, agate, water, and stone. The process she utilizes, passed down from her ancestors from Italy, begins with her own formula of Venetian plaster imported from Italy, which contains fired limestone, marble dust, marble chips, clay, sand, pigments, and metallic powders. All paintings are made with a trowel and burnished between each layer to provide a 3D effect on wood and canvas, creating wall or functional art. All of her works are original and may be recreated in different colors and/or sizes.
