Mixed-media artist Carrie Spence is based in Washington, D.C. and works at the Village School in Arlington, Virginia as artist-in-residence. After teaching English for several years, Carrie turned back to art through a variety of projects, including exhibitions at galleries, shows, and markets around Washington D. C., Maryland, and Virginia. As the winner of The Phillips Collection's Toulouse-Lautrec Illustrates the Belle Époque competition, Carrie’s work was displayed in America's first museum of modern art. Her specialities are comics, educational materials, and pop-surrealism.
